In contrast to bellows, which usually consist of single-layered fabrics, our compensators are usually made of a fabric construction of different materials and coatings. This achieves not only the protective aspect but also insulating and sealing properties.
According to the requirements, different material layers are used for the fabric structure: The outer layer / main layer can be provided with a coating (usually silicone or PTFE) for additional protection against material wear, which also serves as a sealing element. The density layer itself is usually made of a high-quality PTFE film and is thus the heart of the compensator, protected by the insulating layer.
Through the use of appropriate high-tech fabrics, our compensators offer the following features, among others:
- Excellent resistance against high temperatures, various media and mechanical loads
- Appropriate seal: dustproof, smoke gas tight or nekaldicht
axial, lateral or angular motion compensation - Pressure resistant until about 1bar
- Insulating
- Round, angular, combined or cylindrical Versions possible
In addition to the conventional compensators (round, square, combined, cylindrical, etc.), other forms such as insulating pads and covers can be made from a corresponding tissue structure.
Just like bellows, compensators are manufactured by Ceratec in Austria, by hand and exactly according to customer specifications and specifications.
Fabric compensators are important components in many industrial plants. A variety of different materials, fabric structures (insert or multilayer compensators) and designs allow a wide range of applications in the chemical industry, paper mills, iron and steel production and waste incineration plants.
Both our bellows and our fabric compensators are designed for the high temperature range and can be used at temperatures up to 1000 C. A suitable fabric construction also allows use under aggressive conditions (eg by flue gases).
